Years expected lifespan. Durable enough to outlast the interior it sits in.
Driven by Curiosity. Built on Technique.
The Founder
Lisanne Kamphuis did not set out to start a material company. During her graduation year, she started experimenting, curious about what happens when you take something the world has thrown away and apply real creativity to it.
That curiosity became a technique. That technique became Sustaign. A process she developed herself, refined over years of hands-on production, that transforms post-consumer polypropylene into surfaces with the depth, texture, and presence of natural stone.
Today Sustaign works with some of the most recognised brands in retail, hospitality, and workplace design. Not because recycled plastic is fashionable. Because the material earns its place.
Not sustainability
as a label.
As a result.
We don't lead with certifications or carbon calculations. We lead with the product. A surface that proves recycled material doesn't mean compromised aesthetics. Our sustainability argument is what you see and feel, not what you read in a brochure.
Sustaign sits firmly on the design side of the material world. We are not a commodity producer. We are a studio that happens to make surfaces, and every decision we make, from material sourcing to production method, reflects that.
01
Visual potential over sustainability theatre
The conversation about CO₂ and lifecycle analysis is already happening. Our contribution is proving that recycled plastic can be visually extraordinary, not just responsible.
02
Nothing new. Everything designed
Every raw material we use existed before we touched it. Post-consumer PP, leftover pigments, reclaimed wood. We add craft, technique, and design intention. Not new materials.
03
Durability is the sustainability argument
A surface built to last thirty years in a visible interior is a fundamentally different proposition to one that ends up in landfill after five. We make things that stay.
